When you build up a unique robot, how to choose a good WiFi module is very important.

First you need to define your robot is a client or you want robot to be a master AP for other clients. or you want to be a group of robots could communicated with each other even no internet access.

Here are three situations:
1. pure client to link other WiFi router
2. AP router

In first situation you need is a WiFi LAN card. Like your PC or laptop there is one WiFi card installed.
Our WS2433 is the typical 11ac mini PCIe card, high power long range version for 2.4GHz 5GHz both available.

AP router modules could be client and master in the meantime. In network setting, you can let it be a bridge, or a repeater. Please refer to our AWM002, AWM071, AP7620-MPE-2. You can do many applications, linked a USB camera to be an IP camera. With USB microphone and speaker for voice, control IO by different interfaces, UART, I2C, I2S, PWM and so on. Recently MESH is very popular new WiFi router products. WiFi MESH you can check Wikipedia to understand more detail. A wireless mesh network (WMN) is a communications network made up of radionodes organized in a meshtopology. It is also a form of wireless ad hoc network. Basically you need use WiFi router boards to make MESH works. Due to WiFi MESH is highly CPU consumption rate, you should choose a higher speed WiFi router chip to implement, like MT7621 is with 880MHz MIPS CPU. 
The main benefit is end devices (like your mobile) don’t need to set different SSID and password and you can access from one WiFi cover area to the other WiFi area using the same SSID and password.

CCPE001 AP7621-001 AP7621-NV1. That means you can not use small PCBA to make an WiFi MESH. If you choose a lower CPU rate WiFi router chip, your MESH will be only 2 to 3 WiFi routers with lower performance.

  1. Currently I want to find a module of MT7615 to apply, see the Mediatek WiFi MT7615 4T4R 802.11ac Mini PCIe Module 2.4 5GHz dual bands WS329 module on the website, I want to ask some questions.
    1.Is it possible to operate 2G and 5G bands simultaneously with only one MT7615? Or still need to buy two modelus to reach 2G and 5G and run 4T4R at the same time?
    2.I read MT7615 information, there is only one MAC inside, can it really be concurrent? Or 2G and 5G selectable?
    3.1733Mbps seems to have only 5G 4T4R test data, if it can be concurrent, is there 2G and 5G test data?

    Yes, only one can do concurrent, means simultaneously 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz.
    There are three modes. 2.4 Ghz only, 5 GHz only and both.
    2.4 GHz only or 5 GHz only reach 1733 Mbps, concurrent one frequency is 867mbps, the other either.
